Beau

So every year at the Tennessee Basset Waltz, our annual picnic, parade and fundraiser, we have a Hot Dog Toss contest. (Stay with me, I promise this goes somewhere.)The dog who can catch a piece of hot dog three times in a row wins a prize. Meet next year's winner, Beau. Beau can catch treats from 20 feet away. Toss it, he catches it, every time. It's amazing. The only thing more amazing is when he deliberately drops the treat so you will keep throwing more until he catches one. He can work his foster mom for a half dozen treats before she calls him on his game. When he's not catching treats in mid-air (or working you for repeated throws), Beau likes to nap on the arm chair at his foster family's house and watch TV. Beau is good with kids, house-trained, crate-trained and he walks well on a leash. He is about 4 years old. You couldn't ask for a better basset pal.
