May 31, 2007 - Grace is sporting a new pretty blue collar and has come to trust us and other people. She loves to play with her toys, her sister Hope, the other hounds and us. She sleeps on our bed and greets Clara and I with soft gentle kisses each morning when the alarm goes off. She is a happy girl but still has some issue with being on a leash. We are working on that as well as her house training. She is pretty good about going out the dog door and outside to potty most of the time. Grace is now spayed, heartworm free and current on all of her shots. If you think you have enough heart to give Grace a safe and understanding home please contact Clara Jackson.
Grace and Hope were found on the side of Interstate 40 in West Memphis, AR inside a dog crate. They were taken to West Memphis Animal Services. They were both terrified of being in the open and the kennel personnel could not get them out of the dog crate. When they were finally able to get them out, they both immediately ran to an igloo dog house and would not come out of it. The shelter personnel could not examine them or give them any shots. We got them both from the shelter on 9/18/2006. We found a piece of frayed rope tied around Hope's neck. We were finally able to get the rope off of Hope and put collars on them. It became immediately apparent that both of them were terrified of anything around their neck, leashes and being in the open. Whatever happened to these two girls it has left them very traumatized and fearful.
