by Robert & Carrie Peery on 3/12/2004.
Manny is a very special rescue. He ended up at the Memphis Animal Shelter at around
10 years of age. He had infected eyes and ears, was covered in fleas and ticks
and so filthy he looked like he had skin infections. Manny had an advanced case
of heartworms and a heart murmur. With the help and support of many wonderful
people, Manny was restored to good health and now has a forever home. On Jan 14,
2005 Manny crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We are thankful that with lots of help
Manny's last years were filled with love. He never lost his spirit of adventure
and and bassitude. We will see
him again when we cross the rainbow bridge to meet again. If you want to
know what basset rescues all over the country deal with and why they need your
help, please read Manny's Story. Manny's story is available in
printable Adobe Acrobat and a
html document.
